Use SWOP NEWSPRINT settings and set dot gain to 39%.

1. Click on the GCR button
2. Set the black generation to light
3. Black ink limit 85%
4. Total ink limit 260%
STEP 4 - GRAYSCALE SETUP
For "Grayscale Setup" select Black Ink for print reproduction

GOOD TOOLS FOR ESTABLISHING BALANCED COLOR & TONAL CHANGES
1. Levels - Used to establish color balance and contrast
2. Curves - Used to change contrast or tonal characteristics in
an image.
3. To establish a balanced highlight in your Levels box, click
on the high light picker. In the Color Picker dialog box, go to
the CMYK area. Type in 2% in the Cyan (C) box; 1% in the Magenta
(M) box; 1% in the Yellow (Y) box; 0% in the Black (B) box.
4.To establish balanced highlight in the Curve box, click on the
highlight picker, in the color picker, type in 97% in the "brightness"
(B) box.
